Cherokee County Georgia is a great place to call home. Cherokee County, Georgia, was created from ceded land of the Cherokee Indians on December 21, 1830. On December 3, 1832, Cherokee County was divided into ten counties: Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding, Forsyth, Gilmer, Floyd, Union, Murray and Cass (now Bartow). The Cherokee County of today includes the cities of Woodstock, Holly Springs, Canton, Waleska, Ball Ground, Part of Nelson and on the south end, part of Acworth.

Having lived and worked in Cherokee County for the past 31 years and specializing in Cherokee County real estate, I have had the opportunity to watch the County develop into the great place to live, that it is today. It all started in the late 1980's with a community development in Woodstock, located in the southern portion of Cherokee County, called Towne Lake. A 3600 acre master planned family community that is bordered by Lake Allatoona on the Northern side, with a few communities bordering the Corp of Engineer property. This new community helped put Cherokee County on the list of great places to live in North Atlanta. Our first two Golf Course Communities were located in Towne Lake, in a subdivision called Eagle Watch, designed by Arnold Palmer, and shared by The Fairways. And Towne Lake Hills Golf Community designed by Arthur Hills shared by Towne Lake Hills North, East & Towne Lake Hills West. Real Estate in Woodstock and Cherokee County became a great real estate investment opportunity. Towne Lake, which by some is considered a city within itself, offers homes in other great communities with prices ranging from $130,000 to well over 1.5 million in The Estates. The Arbors, Deer Run, Wellesley, Summerchase, Wyngate, Rose Creek, Towne Lake Hills South, Parkview, Spicers Grove, Eagle Glen and other cluster home communities are just a few of the great places to live, work and play in Towne Lake.
